Today (5 June) marks the birthday of my niece Kirsten Rae (Huizenga) Caminiti. She and Joseph have just moved from Pennsylvania to Louisville, KY -- which is home also to her brother and sister-in-law Nolan Huizenga and Aimee Moiso -- to explore new careers. Because of all the measuring they've had to do related to relocation, Kirsten asked me to wear my measuring-tape "tie"! Next month, on 14 July, we can all celebrate the 135th anniversary of the patenting of the "spring-click tape measure," by Alvin J. Fellows.
