25 April 26

It's a rare Saturday when I wear a tie. Today's special occasion is celebrating 3 grandchildren's April birthdays, in Hyden, KY. All 3 like LEGO but it's especially important to Nate (now 11). Yes, the tie bar is made from LEGO bricks.

It's International LEGO Day! -- which gives me my very first opportunity to show this LEGO tie! It was a birthday present from August last year. The date for this celebration is built on this fact: "On January 28, 1958 at precisely 1:58 pm local time, LEGO submitted a patent application [in Denmark] for the bricks we know and love today with interlocking studs and tubes."
