7 September 25

My tie honors Wild Rose Day (21 Fructidor) on the French Republican Calendar. Today is also "Grandparents Day," so I'm including a photo of my paternal grandparents, Frank and Sally Florence Kleppinger. I knew them well when I was growing up in Bethlehem, PA.

16-17 Septermber 23

MyMom (-in-law) Wilma Wollenweber has celebrated her 94th birthday! She loves flowers and looked through my ties to find this one featuring roses on light blue. We gave her some flowers to enjoy at home, and there are more surprises on the way when we get our family together with her soon!

20 April 23

On the French Republican Calendar, which was used from 1793-1805, the spring month named Floréal began on the Gregorian date 20 April, and the first day was named to honor the rose (Rose). My tie shows some beautiful roses on a light blue background.

The love week starts with the Rose Day followed by Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Hug Day, Kiss Day and finishes with the Happy Valentines Day." (from The HolidaySpot) My tie has roses, of course.
