Today (9 December) marks the 60th anniversary of the premiere of "A Charlie Brown Christmas"! My tie shows Charlie, Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, Sally and Woodstock. In 2020 Apple bought the rights to all of the Peanuts television specials, and so they are now available for streaming only through the Apple+ subscription service. Today I ordered the DVD for us!

My Peanuts® Christmas tie is here to celebrate Charles Schulz' birthday yesterday (26 November, 1922). And I'm wearing my thermometer tie clip to honor the birthday today of Anders Celsius (1701-1744).

 On 9 December 1965, the world first saw "A Charlie Brown Christmas." I don't know if we watched it that night but my parents certainly came to enjoy it along with the rest of us. My tie shows Charlie, Linus, Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty, Snoopy and Woodstock -- but not Schroeder! You can find the movie on some streaming services. As posted widely on the Web, "the Peanuts Christmas special will be available to watch on TV this year for one night only. (In other words, don't miss it!) A Charlie Brown Christmas will air on Sunday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. ET on PBS and PBS Kids."

The final class meeting for my Honors Freshman Seminar class today is a great occasion to wear my Peanuts®-gang Christmas tie! We celebrated with a pizza party and a review of our explorations of the campus as our "textbook." The photo of the class was taken by EKU President Michael Benson two weeks ago when we enjoyed learning about the president's perspective on the university.

I have worn several seasonal ties this week without documenting them. This one for today celebrates the end of my Honors Seminar class, with students' presentations about "connections" they have drawn between the textbook readings and other events in their own lives. Snoopy and Linus and Charlie Brown and Lucy like to draw connections too. The label on the tie says "Christmas is Together Time."

Yesterday my daughter Amanda gifted me with a great new Peanuts® Christmas tie, labeled "Christmas is Together Time." How appropriate for me to be able to wear it today on St. Nicholas' Day!
