Granddaughter Evelyn proclaimed today as "Bow Day," so of course I'm following suit with my wooden bow tie! (And my hair tie is also a bow.)

Happy Birthday, David Haskins! David is one of our sons-by-inclusion. He works for Amazon, making sure our Prime deliveries are handled well. He and his wife Rachel and their son Jamison gave me this wood bow tie for Christmas several years ago. When I asked if I should wear it today for David's birthday, the response was "that sounds fantastic!"

It's National Bow Tie Day! This bow tie is made of wood (with an elastic loop around my neck; I don't have to tie pieces of wood together. The action photo is from one of my online class meetings and the detail photo shows how I wore this tie last year, on a shirt covered with bow ties and accompanied by a matching pocket square.

National Bow Tie Day has arrived again! This wood bow tie was a Christmas present from our extended family David and Rachel (and Jamison) Haskins. It came with a matching pocket square, which I had to use on this new bow-tie shirt.

It's been a very long time -- 10 years? -- since I last wore cuff links. But when they match your nifty new wood bow tie, what choice do you have? Today is National Handwriting Day, honoring the birthday of John Hancock. Because bow ties are sometimes seen as a symbol of rebellion, this one is appropriate to the memory of John Hancock, who was one of the "Sons of Liberty" in old Boston.
