It's International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day! I'm celebrating by giving our Belle Pepper a big treat. My tie says "I 💗 DOGS" and "DOGS RULE" and "ROOF ROOF" along with sn image of three dog biscuits.

 My tie says "I [heart] DOGS" and it has one block showing bone-shaped dog biscuits. Today is International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day -- I do not make these things up. Our Belle Pepper actually gets one of the Greenies® toothbrush-shaped treats every day.

 Our kitchen calendar has reminded me that this marks the day four years ago when Belle Pepper came to our house! We will celebrate her fifth birthday on Sunday. My tie says that I love dogs, which has been true for about 34 of my 67 years.

It's a bittersweet day for us. Three years ago today our best friend Shadow crossed the "Rainbow Bridge." My "Love Dogs" tie is also appropriate at this time of year -- Saturday was International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day, which we celebrated with 3-year-old Belle Pepper! (She appreciated the treat, and she appreciated me for giving it to her.)

Today marks 2 years since Shadow Bear left our care for the Rainbow Bridge. We have loved all three of our family dogs -- Sir Burgess (1986-2002), Shadow Bear (2003-2016), and Belle Pepper (now two years and twelve days old). Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day was last Friday, and I saved wearing my "Love Dogs" tie for today.

Today is International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day! This is the first time I get to celebrate it with Pepper, our recently-adopted 1-year-old Labrador Retriever mix. Her full name is Belle Pepper Kleppinger! My tie has brightly colored dog biscuits, and the words "She," "Lab," "Dogs Rule" and "I Dogs." If you have a canine family member, be sure to take time today to appreciate a dog biscuit together.

Today is National Puppy Day! My tie says DOGS RULE -- which is not entirely accurate when there are also cats in the house. I am including a photo of our first puppy, beagle/chow "Sir Burgess," with baby Benjamin in August, 1986.

Today is Shadow Kleppinger's 10th birthday! He came to our house as a very young puppy and has gotten along well with four (now two) humans and three cats. He gave me this "DOGS RULE!" tie a few years ago.

Nobody knows who started International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day, but all sites agree that it is on February 23. There is no parallel for cat treats, probably because cats completely ignore the human calendar. My tie includes a three-biscuit message that says "I Love Dogs." Our dog Shadow was born on November 28, 2002. I missed celebrating his eighth birthday on Sunday, but he has forgiven me with a big slobber. He gave me this "Love Dogs" tie last year.
