It’s International Strange Music Day! I think this tie is a little strange, with an image that combines a globe with a music score. So it’s appropriate!
The main point for this “Day” is to encourage you to listen to some new/unfamiliar/out-of-your-comfort-zone music. One source to consider is “world music” as collected at this site.

We settled on my wearing this curious tie (labeled for the Metropolitan Museum of Art) that features a repeating image of a globe, a sextant and a musical score. Glo was my original piano teacher (when I was 5 years old) and introduced me to the wonderful world of music!
No special occasion today, so I'm sporting another new-to-me tie from the collection of Dr. Richard Day. I am not sure why the Metropolitan Museum of Art draws together a globe, some compasses and a music score for this design, but I like almost anything related to international music!
