Today we're celebrating the birthday of grandson Paul and granddaughter Dana Rose! (They are not twins.) Paul loves orange and asked me to wear this diagonal plaid tie. I think Dana Rose will like it too. It's accessorized with my orange gummi bear tie tack and my Papa Seeds tie bar, and my hair tie is also bright orange!

18 May 22
This is a special day for people who love chocolate and peanut butter. It's "I Love Reese's Day"! Yes, in 2010 the Hershey Company organized an online petition to declare 18 May as "I Love Reese's Day," and it gathered great support. Harry Burnett Reese was working for the Hershey Company in the 1920s when he began creating candies in his own basement. He formed his own company in 1923, and created Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in 1928, using Hershey's chocolate. In 1963 Reese's sons sold the company to Hershey. The date of 18 May was chosen because it is "sandwiched" (haha) between National Peanut Butter Lover's Day in March, and Chocolate Day in July. The peanut butter cups are a staple in our pantry all the time. I don't have a tie featuring Reese's cups -- and so I am substituting this one with orange and black diagonals -- but we do have a matching Christmas ornament on our tree every year!

For Mother-in-Law's Day, I'm wearing Mom's choice of my orange diagonal plaid tie -- Wilma Wollenweber says it has nice fall colors. I'm including photos of our family's Zoom session (where you can see her in the gallery, top left) and my mother-in-law's-tongue plant, which sports a miniature photo of my mother-in-law's tongue!
