It's International Children's Book Day! (It marks the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, 1805-1875.) Please find a child to share an international book, or maybe an international child to share any book! I'm holding one of my own childhood favorites, "Caps for Sale," by Russian-American author Esphyr Slobodkina, and "Beatrice's Goat," by Page McBrier and Lori Lohstoeter (telling a true story about a 9-year-old Ugandan girl). And my tie features Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore peeking out through Hundred Acres Paisleys.
