Celebrating another birthday from EKU-land! Today, Jennifer Fairchild (from the Department of Communication) asked me to wear my Harry Potter -- Gryffindor tie, because she "adore[s] Harry . .  and all things Gryffindor." Actually her own special character is Hermione: "In my opinion, she is the heroine of the Harry Potter novels. She shows us that all it takes is a frizzy haired, bookworm female to get things done!" Jennifer asked me to show it with the Ellie knot, which adds interest at the top, but I think it looks more symmetric with less bold designs.

Happy Birthday (tomorrow) to our son-by-inclusion David Anderson! He's in graduate school for student services at the University of Vermont. He asked me to wear my "Scream" tie (based on the painting by Edvard Munch) and I decided to try a fancier knot -- this one is called the "Ellie" knot.
