For the Second Sunday in Advent, I'm showing some Christmas penguins who are singing very peacefully. The theme for this Sunday is "Peace." You can see some veryhappy (and mostly peaceful) penguins at this video, titled "Christmas Music Theme: Happy Feet." I can't tell if any of those penguins are singing.
The theme for the Third Sunday in Advent is JOY. My joyful tie features singing penguins! And my tie clip is a joyful pink elephant. (My hair tie that you can't see is pink, the color associated with this Sunday.)
Here are some carol-singing penguins for the first Sunday in Advent 2023. This tie is from the collection of Allan Stephens (1940-2010), fellow choir member for singing and handbells at Richmond First United Methodist Church. My shirt is blue because that's the alternate color (with purple) for Advent.
For the second workday in Advent 22 I have chosen my singing penguins tie! It originally belonged to Allan Durand Stephens, well known band director at Model Laboratory School in Richmond, Kentucky.
For my last tie in 2021, and for the first Sunday in Christmas, I'm wearing my "singing penguins"! Tonight is my fourth visit this month to share some Bible stories and carols with the residents of Telford Terrace. That had been my routine for nearly twenty years before the pandemic, so I'm very happy to sing again. And I'm wearing a nice green hair tie which was a Christmas present!
Yesterday (20 January) was Penguin Awareness Day, but I was celebrating the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris! So today I'm bringing out my singing penguins. I know the tie has colors and decorations from Christmas time, but . . . it has singing penguins!
