National Popcorn Day is celebrated annually on 19 January. It's one day later, but I am wearing my popcorn tie, and there shall be popcorn popped and eaten!

For National Popcorn Day (19 January) I wore my popcorn tie! My Friday-morning-donuts friends from EKU enjoyed seeing it via Zoom. And later Beth and I shared some popcorn while watching another episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

Our foster grandson turns 4 years old today! I showed him a set of ten ties from my closet, and his eyes lit up as he saw this one and shouted POPCORN! I'm picking him up from preschool this afternoon and I think you can guess what I will have in the car as a surprise snack! I suppose I need a fourth exclamation point in this text!

Today is one of the first "date math" days this year -- 19 plus 1 (January) = 20 (for 2020). But bursting out of the calendar is the fact that today is National Popcorn Day! Here's a link to a video that will tell you all about this day and some trivia about popcorn. Some of us remember Jiffy Pop® stovetop popcorn, and I'm happy to report that you can still buy the "original version" popping pan (with the expanding balloon of aluminum foil) with 2-day delivery from Walmart ($1.62).
