My calendar includes several events for 10 January: First meeting of the UN General Assembly (1946); Houseplant Appreciation Day; inauguration of the League of Nations (1920); Peculiar People's Day; and the publication of "Common Sense" by Thomas Paine (1776). Rather than figure out some way to connect a tie to those, I let Beth choose a tie from my list of 40 ties that I haven't worn for more than a year, and she picked the Empire State Building!
