Born on this date: Alan Turing (1912) and Vint Cerf (1943). Turing was a pioneer in what would become computer science and artificial intelligence. He died in 1954. Cerf was one of the creators of the "Internet Protocol" (IP), and is sometimes called the father of the Internet.
Wikipedia currently reports that "Cerf has worked for Google as its Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist since September 2005."
