On 16 December 1773, a group of terrorists calling themselves the Sons of Liberty overwhelmed the guards on three ships in Boston Harbor and emptied over 300 chests of tea into the water. The "Boston Tea Party" conspiracy arose to protest the high taxes on tea (and other products) imposed by the British King on the American colonies. (I wore my Old Boston map tie on 15 December, the last working day in 2022 for most staff at Eastern Kentucky University.)
