Today's birthday of my friend and former EKU Honors colleague Minh Nguyen makes a great occasion to wear this unusual tie -- which Minh bequeathed to me in 2019! It is one of three ties in my collection with bold horizontal stripes; the other ones are associated with the cartoon characters Dilbert and The Cat in the Hat. I think the colors on this tie (red, yellow, white and dark green on navy blue) resemble a national flag, but I haven't found one that matches that combination well. The closest ones seem to be Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ethiopia and Mauritius. Minh has just been appointed to the position of Interim Dean of the Honors College at Florida Gulf Coast University.
