On 7 March 1876, Alexander Graham Bell received a patent for the telephone. Exactly fifty years later (1926), the first transatlantic conversation was completed! My Peanuts® characters are using wireless phones with external antennae, common in the mid-1970s-1980s. In other news, today marks the birthday of composer Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) and one of my own fourth-great-grandmothers, Rachel Hambleton Kester (1765-1858).
