Wearing my Korean alphabet tie, to mark the March 1 Movement, a major protest in 1919 that led toward Korea's independence from Japan. It has been a national holiday in South Korea since 1949. My tie was brought to me by my friend Beth Blanchard after a short visit there in June 2010.
