16 February 22

Introducing one of the strangest ties I've ever worn: white horseshoes on bright pink. Note that the shoes are turned "up" so the luck doesn't run out. I suspect that this tie was given to me (at Christmas) as a challenge, to find some relevant celebration. Well, I succeeded today -- this is the 97th anniversary of the formation of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association of America! It was preceded by the National League of Horseshoe and Quoit Pitchers which originated on 26 February 1919, so I honestly could wear this tie next Saturday too. If you would like to see some semi-professional horseshoe pitching, you  can watch three minutes from the 2017 World Horseshoe Tournament -- it shows a ringer at 1:23.
