Today I'm celebrating Cat Day, on the French Republican Calendar. It's actually on Friday this week, but that is a day when EKU will be closed and so no tie for me! The images of cats on my tie include some that resemble our own cats of past and present! Today (12 January) marks the birthday of Clement Hurd (1908-1988), who is most famous as the illustrator for Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny, both authored by Margaret Wise Brown. One of the pages in Goodnight Moon shows the "two little kittens and a pair of mittens."
