On 10 July 1973, The Bahamas became an independent nation. I have to celebrate with my Bahamas flag tie today because I'm not wearing a tie on Friday (and tomorrow is special for a very different reason!). Below the tie I'm wearing what would have to be called Bermuda shorts, which I hope does not create a Caribbean conflict. (I have learned that The Bahamas and Bermuda are actually not in the Caribbean Sea but they are counted among Caribbean travel destinations!)
