"The Far Side" first appeared on 1 January 1980. This treasure-worthy tie was presented to me by Philip Gump, a comrade in EKU Information Technology, and he is certainly one of our wisest guys. The tie's image is taken from the endpapers of Gary Larson's "The Complete Far Side." The cows --one of Larson's favorite comic themes -- are posing as "barn-less" beggars, driving a "Moofia Staffcar," entering the "Cowcatcher" bar (which is across the street from The Udderplace theater whose marquee says "Now Playing: 101 Dead Matadors"), and wearing a t-shirt that says "Same Manure, Different Day." The comic last appeared in 1995 but there's a new Web site that will display new work by Larson.
