Go ahead . . . stare into the swirls on this tie until you are fully mesmerized! That word honors the life of Franz Mesmer (1734-1815). He was "a German doctor with an interest in astronomy who theorised that there was a natural energy transference that occurred between all animated and inanimate objects that he called animal magnetism, sometimes later referred to as mesmerism." The animals in this Jerry Garcia design are garden snails, which gives me the opportunity to recognize tomorrow's designation as National Escargot Day. I had no idea there were so many ways to "enjoy" eating snails.
