Today marks the birthday of Charles Darwin (1809-1882). His theory of evolution through natural selection developed from careful observations of the growth, development, and natural history of many kinds of animals, including birds, tortoises, and iguanas. My tie celebrates all sorts of colored lizards -- speculating on how some prehistoric species might have looked!
