Tonight I will talk to the high school seniors at Richmond First United Methodist Church, urging them to be confident and friendly as they encounter people of other religions and cultures in their next life adventures. Our son Jonathan is now the youth pastor at the church, and he's invited me to do this visit annually since 2013! My tie is based on drawings by M. C. Escher that play games with gravity and perspective -- excellent "Anknüpfungspunkts"(starting points) for thinking about the wonderful, all-ends-up world we face.
