Do you remember listening to "Pictures at an Exhibition," or "Night on Bald Mountain"? Both of these masterpieces were composed by Modest Mussorgsky (1838-1881), whose birthday I am celebrating with my brightly colored eighth notes tie. When I was a child we had a great big console record player, and the LP platter containing those Mussorgsky pieces was one of the first in "True Stereo."
