2 December 25

Our central Kentucky December weather kicks off with a winter storm watch and overnight snow. We didn't get enough to build a snowman but the ones on my tie are happy anyway.

25 June 20

Happy Half-Christmas! We're exactly six months away, from either the past or the future 25 December. (Actually I guess it's always true that we're halfway between the past and the future, every day of our lives.)

Happy Half-Christmas! My snowmen and their decorated trees are here to remind you of good Christmastimes of past and future. I hadn't worn this tie since 2015! (For those who keep score, my closet tie racks currently hold 247 ties, with spaces for at least 50 more. I've worn 209 different ties since June 2017.)

Tomorrow (Friday) is Fir Tree Day, on the old French Republican Calendar. This Christmas-y tie has fir trees and snowpeople, and I'm hoping for some snow soon! (I know that my Norfolk Island Pine is not a fir tree!)

The weather forecast early this week mentioned flurries for today. It's not going to happen but I'm wearing my snowmen-with-Christmas-trees tie anyway. And I'm taking Mallie to an office lunch party!

11 December 12

Happy 10th Day of Advent 2012! It's the coldest day of Advent so far in Kentucky, so these snowpeople on my tie are getting a little more excited.

"Cold December Flies Away" . . . except this time it's flying "in." This is our first really cold morning, with the driveway temperature at 24 degrees and light frost on the cars. Happy first Thursday in Advent!

24 July 11

This is the Sunday closest to "Christmas in July," and it's also been incredibly hot this week, so Beth suggested a snowman-Christmas tie for today!

10 February 11

We received about 3 inches of snow last night! This may be my last chance to wear a snowman-appropriate tie this winter. Besides snowmen with brooms, this tie has giant snowflakes and decorated trees that fit into the season of Epiphany because they have nice lights.

Snowmen on green - hoping for snow soon - this is the latest our area has gone without a hard frost since 1899.

Snowpeople and Christmas trees. There's no snow in Berea or Richmond today, but the weather forecasts include some snow for the middle of next week.
