May the Fourth Be With You, on Star Wars Day! My tie shows the plan for the Millennium Falcon. It first appeared in Episode III, Revenge of the Sith, where it was named the Stellar Envoy. Following the end of the Clone Wars and the formation of the Galactic Empire, the Envoy was refurbished and passed between multiple owners until it ended up in Lando Calrissian's possession, where it was renamed the Millennium Falcon. Lando Calrissian lost it to Han Solo in payment of a gambling debt. In Episode IV, A New Hope, its awesome speed and maneuverability proved quintessential for the survival of the Republic. And further Falcon adventures are recorded in the later episodes.

Yesterday was the first time in years that I did not wear a Star Wars tie to celebrate "May the Fourth Be With You!" So I'm choosing my Millennium Falcon tie today for the "Revenge of the Fifth." Actually it would seem to be even punnier to wait until the Sixth, but maybe we should seek advice about dates from the Calendalorian.

For his birthday today, Jonathan asked me to wear my Star Wars Millennium Falcon tie. It shows the detailed plan for this amazing vehicle, which was piloted primarily by Han Solo and Chewbacca and later by Lando Calrissian and Rey. Happy Birthday, Jonathan Albert!

May the Fourth Be With You, 2021
It's Star Wars Day again! Here's my tie featuring the design of the Millennium Falcon. "The Millennium Falcon was a YT-1300 light freighter of the YT-1300f variety. Its basic shape was defined by two convex saucers welded together, a pair of front-facing mandibles and an outrigger-style, side-mounted cockpit with transparisteel viewports." "Its aged appearance still belied numerous advanced modifications to boost the ship's speed, weapons, and shields, including a hyperdrive engine among the fastest in the entire galaxy, enabling it to outrun Imperial Star Destroyers."
