Celebrating 33 years since I received my Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky! It took me 12 years in graduate school in philosophy. My dissertation was titled "Explanations of Science: The Use of Case Studies in the Sociology of Scientific Knowledge," and was NOT exciting. The photo from 1992 includes Ben (6) and Jonathan (3-1/2) and the backs of my mother and father.

Happy Selection Sunday! Today, the University of Kentucky men's basketball team aims to win its 31st Southeastern Conference Championship. 57 tournaments have been held since 1933, and Kentucky has more championships than all the rest combined. When the bracket for the NCAA Tournament is announced this evening, they are likely to be seeded third or fourth. Go Big Blue!

Two dozen years ago I got my Ph. D. (in philosophy) from the University of Kentucky! It was a rainy day in Lexington but my boys were happy to be with me. This is the second time I've tied this UK Wildcat tie.
