Today (14 December) is my last day of official work for Eastern Kentucky University. The offices are closed from tomorrow until 2 January! I will continue supporting our Winter courses until the end of the month. My tie today features wreaths, holly, ribbons, bows and Christmas bells!

This is the Eleventh Day of Christmas, and it's also National Spaghetti Day. So I'm enjoying a free baked spaghetti dish at Fazoli's® and wearing my Merry Christmas bells and wreaths tie. And Happy Birthday to British natural philosopher (now called physicist) Isaac Newton (1643-1727) and Irish archbishop/chronologist James Ussher (1581-1656).

It's the second Sunday in Advent 2012, traditionally celebrated in many churches by lighting the Candle of Peace. This tie featuring bells and wreaths was a Christmas gift to me last year.
