Tomorrow is my birthday, and I'm declaring that I get to choose my own tie for today AND tomorrow. This one is amazing because it combines animals (associated with fables?), flowers and rose-window medallions. My childhood-church friend Vangie Armiger is celebrating her birthday today, and I suspect she approves of these bright colors! Two other notable people with birthdays today are Elisha Graves Otis (of elevator fame) (1811) and Gene Kelly (actor/dancer) (1912).
