21 June 16

Due to temporal collisions, some tie-worthy occasions this week have been slightly rescheduled. Today I'm recognizing the birthdays on 23 June of Alan Turing (1912-1954) and Vint Cerf (1943-). Turing was a pioneer in computer coding and artificial intelligence, and Cerf is often credited as the "Father of the Internet" for creating the basic protocols for network communications. So these Looney Tunes® characters are playing with Web addresses! Two birthdays on 21 June worth noting: existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre (1905-1980) and great Christian theologian Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971).
