When I asked granddaughter Evelyn what she could see on my tie today, she immediately said "MOUNTAINS!" -- which was wonderful because that is exactly what I wanted to be showing. Tomorrow (22 April) is Earth Day, and today (21) is the birthday of environmentalist John Muir (1838-1914). Muir has become known as "John of the Mountains" and "Father of the National Parks."
