Today (10 January) is Houseplant Appreciation Day! I'm showing my appreciation for my mother-in-law's tongue by wearing a new-to-me tie with brilliant colors of tropical flowers. My EKU comrade Dr. Richard Day (from the Department of Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership) had a long history of wearing amusing/amazing neckties during his years as an elementary school principal, and he recently gave me a bagful of wonderful treasures including this one (which is labeled from Hawai'i). Richard is one of our resident experts on classroom curriculum and Kentucky's educational standards.
