Today I'm honoring the birthday of James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879), often acclaimed as the "third greatest physicist of all time" after Newton and Einstein. His research into electricity and magnetism set the stage for understanding the entire electromagnetic spectrum and for uniting optics and mechanics. My tie is meant to be "electrifying." I've tied the Trinity knot today for both the trio of physicists and for Trinity Sunday, two days ago.
