New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art ("the Met") opened on 20 February 1872, 135 years ago today. My tie was originally sold through the Met's museum store, but I picked it up at a local Goodwill store about 6 years ago. The pattern celebrates the sun and several number-cycles tied into calendaring (based on 4, 13, 19).
