Today's extra-wide goofy tie needs more than the usual explanation. First of all, it's David Anderson's 29th birthday and he chose this for me to wear. David, our son (by inclusion), works at Florida State University as a "Student Program Coordinator" in the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities. His job is to adjudicate student conduct cases, which in my own college days meant facing the Dean of Women or the Dean of Men. It's perfectly OK for me to wear this tie now because this year St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday, when I regularly eschew neckwear. Neither David nor I is particularly Irish, but we both like this tie!
