Today's Trinity knot celebrates the ending of the Council of Nicaea, on this date in 325 CE, with the adoption of the "Nicene Creed" that established the doctrine of the Trinity. I first became acquainted with the Creed as a child, through attending rehearsals of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem (PA) as they sang Bach's choral masterpiece Mass in B Minor. The melodies and counterpoint of the Credo section have stuck with me ever since.
