Today is "Fir Tree Day" on the French Republican Calendar. And Saturday is St. Nicholas Day. So I'm celebrating both by wearing my Santa Claus/St. Nicholas tie that features decorated trees (and reindeer playing games), and standing near our dwarf Alberta spruce (the closest thing to a fir at our house). Do you know how to tell the difference between fir, pine and spruce?
