This is Independence Day #49 for Zambia, which was "Northern Rhodesia" in my early childhood. In the 1960s we learned about the country through good family friends who were missionaries at Pemba, and other attachments have grown over the years. My tie bears the letters Z-A-M-B-I-A, and according to the tie's label, Zambia is "The REAL AFRICA." Someday maybe I'll get there in real life.
