Fifty-two years ago today, Alan Shepard became the first American to go into "space," in the "Freedom 7" capsule. In 1971 he piloted the Apollo 14 mission, and became the fifth human to walk on the surface of the moon. The rocket pictured on my tie is a Saturn model, used for the Apollo moon missions.
