On this date in 2004, Cingular Wireless agreed to pay nearly $41 billion in cash to buy AT&T Wireless Services. A few years later, the "new AT&T" bought Cingular Wireless and renamed it AT&T Wireless. The complicated name changing is documented nicely at Wikipedia. Definitely time for some "Silly Songs with Larry."
