16 September 09

Today marks the birthday (in 1919) of Laurence J. Peter, who became famous for the Peter Principle: In any organizational hierarchy, individuals tend to rise to their level of incompetence. So I chose my "Dilbert Shuffle" tie, making it an annual tradition. Today is also noteworthy in our family as the 80th birthday of Wilma Wollenweber (Beth's mom) and the 22nd for David Ladd Wollenweber (our nephew). Of worldwide significance, this is International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, as proclaimed by the United Nations.
