Any day is a great day to wear pink. Today is also the 25th anniversary of a relatively minor event in "feminism," marking the day in 1984 when Walter Mondale announced that Geraldine Ferraro would be his vice presidential running mate. At the time it was trumpeted as spectacular news that a woman might be eligible for the sub-highest elected office in the United States.
