This is National Smile Week on some calendars. Great Britain already celebrated National Smile Month, 18 May-17 June, but it won't hurt to have some additional days for being happy. I wanted to wear this brash tie anyway, and it seems to be successful in causing smiles near me today. (Two of the meanings given for brash in the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary: "full of fresh raw vitality" and "uninhibitedly energetic or demonstrative"!) This is one of three ties presented to me for my 55th birthday last week (by Courtney Tennill and Amanda Wheeler), each accompanied with a document suggesting appropriate occasions for their appearance. I'm adding National Smile Week to the list for my pink/fuchsia tie.
