We are pretty sure that Werner Heisenberg was born on this date in 1901. He's most famous for the
Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, which states that the position and the momentum of an object cannot both be measured exactly, at the same time. Sounds simple enough, but it creates some of the deepest philosophical and observational problems in quantum mechanics. On a much lighter note, my Santa-and-Reindeer-Games tie is certainly special for this time of year! Three years ago the football-playing caribou relatives inspired the name for my first fantasy football team, the North Pole Reindeer.
