Today, Mickey Mouse is 90 years old! His first sound cartoon, "Steamboat Willie," was released in 1928. This marks the 9th time in eleven years that I've worn this tie to celebrate Mickey's birthday! There are at least three Disney cartoons closely related to the images on this tie – “The Band Concert” (1935), “Mickey’s Amateurs” (1937) and "Symphony Hour" (1942). All have the three characters, and there are scenes with tubas/sousaphones, and Mickey’s Amateurs has a microphone, but so far I can’t find any images that match what’s on my tie.
